I have had no luck dealing with any of the big box stores around me. Fortunately I now work part time helping a friend out at his LGS. Discount is nice and most of the people are good to deal with. Have a batch of regulars that are fun to visit with just to talk guns. Alot of the younger folks...
I know how that is. Watched a dealer at a show explaining to a couple people that the front end of a ruger charger would swap out with the front end of a 10-22 take down. ATF had a table two away from his. Don't understand why he thought that was a good idea.
The deal about the margins is also correct. Colt lowered prices and raised most of the dealer costs, so margin is slim. For the money the Colt Competition is probably the best value of the bunch.
Colt changed to wanting only Colt Authorized dealers requiring a minimum stock of several kinds of Colt's kept in stock on hand. Alot of places aren't willing to make that investment. Small shop I work at part time near Dayton OH is an Authorized Colt dealer. We have have a couple Mustangs...
I just picked up a full size classic Coonan with the compensated barrel. It is very accurate and easy to shoot. The comp cuts down the recoil and muzzle flip really well. It comes with the 10 lb spring to use breaking it in, but the literature states it won't cycle 38 +P.
Anybody ever seen or used Beckelhymer bullseye target grips? I picked these up about two weeks ago. Made from the late 50's into the 60's. They are huge and obnoxious to look at but awesome to shoot with. It's like the pistol becomes part of your hand. Got a copy of a 1956 ad for them with...
Just out of curiosity did he try getting some other quality mags to see if that took care of the problem. If I was carrying it and the mags didn't feed right I would get rid of them and but wilson or ed brown mags. If it still didn't feed I wouldn't carry it at all.
I have carried Glocks for the last 20 years. They are not pretty but they are very durable, have never had one fail to function, and are almost impervious to rain and snow. Just wipe it down good later. Big feature tof the Glocks is they are like revolvers, point it, pull the trigger, it...
I don't understand what the beef is against cops. By your reasoning since citizens in Komifornia can't own AR15's the cops should have gone up against the two that killed 14 in San Bernadino with handguns and shotguns right? Don't take out stupid politicians decisions on the cops.
Here are my favorite two old war horses. An all original 1911 manufactured in 1915, and a WWII Colt turned into a national match gun by Springfield Armory after the war.
