I bought a craftsman when we built our house and really like it. I think it's a 10" slider. Whatever you buy take the time to adjust it as best as you can to get it square and true. They are only close from the factory.

If you want it 12" thick, form it up with 2x12's. It will end up being about 11 1/2" thick. Don't bother with the angle iron. Use 1/2" rebar and build a cage with that, and just tie wire it together. Drill some rebar into your existing floor and attach your rebar cage to that. Get reinforced...
