It is not full auto so I assume the AK 47 designation is an inaccurate label...my appologies. It is marked as Romanian, but as I am unfamiliar with these I don't know what markings and stamps are important.
I have been asked by my MiL to help her sell my late Father in laws firearms. Any resources for properly identifying and valuing an AK 47 would be greatly appreciated. I realize there are many variables that determine value, but I could use a solid jump off point to start.

I recently entered the arena of 9mm, and am looking for recommendations for self defense ammo for a 3.5" barrel(S&W M&P 9c). With so many flavors on the market, bullet weight and construction, my google-fu has left my head spinning. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have owned 2...a sweet shooting PT 945 single stack .45 and a PT 145 Millennium .45. Both had major failures that rendered them paperweights. I would own another, but would be extremely hard pressed to, simply from my own experience, rely on a Taurus for a self defense pistol. For their part...
Thanks for the google-fu...
More specifically- does anyone familiar with Rangemasters on 49 know with any accuracy why the facility is no longer open for public use and/or if the building and range would still be a viable business. Its proximity to Blythes may be a negative and it may be...
What ever happened to the Rangemasters on 49 in Chesterton? They opened a very nice range that seemed to be very clean with open lanes when LE weren't exclusively using it. The gun store itself exhibited their pride in the products by price point, but I never tried to haggle.
Thanks for all the info...reaffirms my desire to not let this go outside the family. My brother shoots Smiths in Bianchi Cup and talks of replacing hands and gunsmiths working to keep them running-I don't expect that volume of shooting but feel pretty confident in its ability to keep up with...
Title says most-new owner of my Father-in law's Security Six. It was his first duty weapon as a sheriff's deputy and thankfully he never parted ways with it til now(lucky me). Shoots like a dream, built like a tank, and puuuurty(no pics yet). I don't intend for it to be a safe queen and would...
Mini-14 in a bullpup stock, red dot sight, attempt at looking tacticool --- unfortunately I shoot long guns left handed. Charge handle made impact just below my nose. I was certain I had lost my front teeth and would need stitches. Fortunately my pride was all that suffered long term injury.
Blythes in Valpo has them in stock. Fondled one today and the trigger is nice, points well and ambi controls are fine...just nothing terribly sexy about them. I am a Glock fan on striker fired semi-autos, but barring something unexpected I would not hesitate to carry one of these. In the same...
