      Winchester 1897 Trench Gun

They are coming around on Ebay. Someone must have started making them again.

      Winchester 1897 Trench Gun

For some reason my text didn't come through on this post. The WWII 1897 is legit. Even the heat shield is NOS WWII that I rust blued and riveted on the bayonet lug. I took it to Tulsa last year to show someone and Lock Stock and Barrel Investments offered $7,500 for it. The Model 12 trench...

      Winchester 1897 Trench Gun

According to Bruce Canfield, ALL WWI Wincheeter 97s were solid frames and ALL WWII guns were takedown.

Bull Creek Arms does conversions. The heat shields are becoming more available by the day. If you have a model 97, the conversion process isn't hard. It depends on how correct you want it to look. I just got done with a Model 12 clone and it was involved, and expensive to make it right.

      Winchester 1897 Trench Gun

I got it last week. I just need to find time to blue it and put it on.

      Winchester 1897 Trench Gun

OK, I know it's been a long time, but I have been working on this gun and I finally have it finished. I was able to take the repro heat shield/bayonet lug that Dog1 gave me and trade it for an actual OEM heat shield only. I took that, rust blued it and riveted it to the bayonet lug I already...

      Winchester 1897 Trench Gun

Man, it isn't your fault. I could tell it was packaged well. Luckily it was metal and I could bent it back in shape.

      Winchester 1897 Trench Gun

To everyone that is wondering, I got it and the USPS smashed it. I was able to bend it back in shape, but that is disappointing. I currently have it on a M12 trench gun barrel, and I am trying to decide if I should try to blue it or leave it as is. Maybe I should take the heat shield off and...

      Winchester 1897 Trench Gun

I just bought an early WWII Winchester 1897 Trench Gun from a veteran's son. He had his dad on the phone while we were negotiating the price. He said he hated the heat shield, so he ripped it off. The bayonet lug is still there and it still has 4 out of 6 of the rivets in it. I thought I...

      Mystery Winchester Model 12

It must have been made into a slug gun. You say it patterns high. I'll bet if you shoot a slug at 50-75 yards it will be dead on.

      Wheel Gun Show-N-Tell

I picked this up over the weekend. I think I am going to have to keep this one.

What have you done this week to prep? PART II

Let me start by saying, I am not much of a prepper. I was coming home today and decided to go to the store. My wife usually does the shopping, so I have no frame of reference as to what goes on there. I was spooked. The produce section was almost bare. Much of the bread was gone. Random...
