Being a poll worker at this election, I was able to remind the other workers that it was not illegal for armed voters to enter the fire station. Since we are in a rural area, it was easy for everyone to agree with me. ( I think it was the only time Tuesday when we all agreed.) :-)
After several unsucessful tries over two days, I was finally able to add my name to the petition. I highly recommend that all members of this forum also sign this petition.
MedicMike, The po-po just left within the last half-hour. I've talked to my neighbor, who was worried that he would be getting in trouble for having that stuff, but he was not hassled. He took the deputies to the woods where he found this stuff, and cooperated fully with them. He told me...
The neighbor across the road knocked on my door this afternoon. He asked me to look at what he had found while mushroom hunting in some nearby woods. In his garage I found a 4"PVC pipe about two foot long, and capped on both ends. The neighbor had opened one end. Inside he found a .22 pistol...
To answer your question: Yes, you can be arrested and put in jail. You can be charged with murder and will need to defend yourself. If the evidence proves you acted to defend yourself and your home, you may be found innocent.
I'm not a lawyer, but I once stayed in a Holiday Inn, and an ex-BIL...
About page 5 or 10 of this post, I had a very important comment to make.
But a while back I commented in a post withour reading all the other comments and was reproached because someone else had already made the same comment. So I read all 275 posts first...

I guess I'm in a different corner here. I have my NRA Instructor's card, I teach 4-H Shooting Sports and Hunter Ed classes, so I guess I've taught a few hundred people how to be safe around guns. I've also taught high school and college classes (not gun safety) and I know the difference between...
Just remember that the "common sense" mentioned here is not so very common. I seldom attend a gun show, dealer or range where I don't notice poor gun-handling techniques. I try to teach proper gun safety in my classes, but I'm not willing to spend my time trying to tell others how to be safe...

Thank you for giving all of us a great explanation of this event. I cannot imagine a similar blog from the hateful neighbor being anything close to such a complete clarification of the events. I'm glad you are able to put this behing you.
Happy Veterans Day... and good shooting!
Well, you can do the same thing I did 30 years ago when I also wound up with a gob of .44 cal mini balls.... Put them up on a shelf and look at them every 5 years or so. I still haven't decided what to do with them, but they're not eating anything, so I guess I'll just leave them alone.
1. Reset electronics like routers, modems, etc. that have a reset hole in the back.

You beat me to it!:) I'm the coordinator for our local 4-H Shooting Sports Club. 4-H requirements are that the kids should be in the third grade to participate in shooting sports, and I've found that younger ones lack the concentration and safety rules retention that we need. Again, it depends...
