Fixed power prism scopes have now been proving themselves for decades as venerable combat optics. They are highly regarded for their durability and combat effectiveness at close to medium ranges for good reason. These types of optics have arguably dropped more bodies than any optic of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflict. Naturally, we wanted to do our own Tacticon take on the prism optic. Enter the Apex Predator Prism Scope. This newest edition to our Predator lineup features a 6063 Aircraft Grade Aluminum housing with German made glass providing for both durability and clarity. The reticle is etched into the glass making for a usable optic both with and without illumination. The reticle is a calibrated BDC meant to match the most common of 5.56 loadings such as XM193, providing for fast and accurate engagements out to 600 yards. The field of view for this optic comes in at a generous 32 ft @ 100 yds, ensuring you are able to maintain situational awareness of the area surrounding your target and decrease the risk of getting sucked into your optic. Another major advantage of a prismatic scope over the traditional red dot is the elimination of reticle blurriness, fuzziness, or ‘starbursting’ effects for those with astigmatism. If you are in the market for an optic that will excel on a general purpose rifle, the Apex Predator Prism Scope will undoubtedly fulfill the needs of a shooter looking for close to medium range capabilities that is not completely dependent on batteries.
