    Could one run .45 acp with moon clips in the .45 LC version by popping the cylinder pin and rolling the cylinder out?
    I’ve never had a “cowboy gun” SAA type so I don’t know if it would work.

    I imagine you'd have to have the cylinder cut for moon clips...but if you did I imagine it would work. Without cutting a recess, though, there probably wouldn't be enough room and the case heads would bind between the cylinder and blast shield. There's not a lot of room there. You'd also probably need custom moon clips made to fit around the ratchet.

    My Blackhawk .45 convertible has a separate cylinder for ACP that has a rim for the case head to bottom out against to create proper headspace. A .45 ACP just falls into the .45 Colt Cylinder. Now .45 Auto-rim would work, but it's probably easier to just source .45 Colt.

    I'm thinking about getting one of these. The plastic grips will have to he changed for decent wood grips.
