Yeah yeah, I know there are a couple of threads going that make fun of Hi Points and their owners, but I'm pretty happy with them right now. I picked up a used C-9 for my first handgun because I was low on cash and wanted something to have fun with at the range that was in the same caliber as my girlfriend's XD9. It worked fine for about a hundred rounds, then over the next 50 or so started stovepiping with increasing regularity until the casing would FTE almost 50% of the time. After a quick call to Hi Point I shipped the thing back to them, and six days later it was back in my hands with a free magazine for my trouble. I finally got it out to the range last night and put 100 rounds through it without a hitch!

It's big, ugly, heavy, and doesn't hold very many rounds, but the customer service is top notch and I love shooting it--when it works. I'm anxious to get back out there and make sure it's really fixed. Don't worry though, if it craps out again any time soon you guys will be the first to hear about it (well, the second, right after the friendly HP Customer Service personnel).

My first pistol was a hi-point. I foolishly though that I would never carry it, and that I only wanted it for range purposes. I put thousands of rounds through it and got very good with it. Obviously I could never carry it and I eventually decided that was important to me. I traded it off on half an SKS and then bought my current carry gun. Sometimes I look at 'em for nostalgia. Fun guns. Good customer service.

Let me be the first to say....your girlfriends gun kicks your guns @$$!

Okay, now that I have that out of the way, it's nice to here about a company treating their customers right.

Don't I know it! But the holes in the paper are the same size and in the same place, and with my free extra magazine I can put them there almost as fast as she can... :ar15:

I agree that their customer support is great (I have a carbine). As long as you didn't post a youtube video recently featured in a thread here, I have respect for you and won't hold the C9 against ya! :):

Never had one. Talked and read about them for over 2 years now. I'm buying 2 carbines and 2 handguns in the same caliber. For the price of a low end AR I can get 4 reliable, accurate, yet ugly guns from a company that will stand behind them 100%.It never hurts to be able to arm a couple more people inexpensively, and I think they are actually one of the last few companies to make things here in the USA.

I agree! I have a high point along several other handguns and I can't say anything bad about them! Sure they do not look the best, but I have never had a malfunction of any kind with more than a 1000 rounds through mine.

My father-in-law had the same problem with his C9, and they fixed it no questions asked, plus they sent him some goodies for his trouble.

How long ago did he fix it, and has he had any more trouble with it? I'm pretty keen on finding out if the thing will stay fixed. I don't mind calling customer service once, but more than that and we may have a problem.

I have a C9 comp - first gun. It has somewhere in the neighborhood of 10,000 rounds through it (stopped counting about a year ago but has to be close). It has been sent back to Hi-point twice. 1st time was due to an issue of me not putting it back together quite right - they fixed it free o' charge. Next time was at about 8k rounds, it started to have the same eject issues you explained. Sent it back to H-P and they sent it back pretty much with everything replaced in it. Have not had an issue since then and it has been working like a charm (knock on wood).
