    I also saw a link the other day (not sure where and too lazy to look it up at the moment) about "stoning" the stock hammer. I've done the auto-bolt-release mod and made my own extended mag release for mine, plus added a scope. I'm thinking about doing the hammer mod, but I'm not sure if I'll do that or just buy the VQ that ATM mentioned.
    I do recall that if you change to the VQ hammer, there is one spring that you're supposed to leave stock.

    For $150 or so, you can get a bull barrel and a new stock.

    Yeah, I know, "for $150 you can buy a new rifle... blah, blah..."

    If it's not broke, don't fix it!

    Leave that one alone... it obviously shoots just fine!

    If you feel the need to mess around and modify a 10/22, buy a new one.
    If you're able to afford the myriad of upgrades and doo-dads, you can definitely afford to drop another $200.00 on a brand new rifle.
