10/22 for sale, do you think it might be class iii?

So, I was browsing the classifieds over at armslist. I noticed a guy that has had a mini-14 for sale for months. I contacted him and offered a face to face with a trade that he said he wanted. He quit communicating with me. I figured the guy was running some sort of scam.

Now he has the following 10/22 listed. The best I can tell is that it is a SBR with a suppressor. The ad states that the barrel is threaded and the barrel can't be 16" without the suppressor.

I can't figure out if the guy is running a scam or is "undercover"

I use armslist allot , one reason i joined ingo was overpriced guns on armslist . he is one of the worst i dont think he realy wants to sell , just trying to show off ? he has been posting guns on there for a long time over and over . I just avoid him .

I'd bet it's not a real suppressor and that it's just a large diameter "shroud" that covers the barrel...

Exactly THIS^.
I have one of those and it is a fake suppressor. It IS however a 16" barrel. The mock suppressor slips over the entire front portion of the barrel.

Those are pretty sweet kits, and actually use some AK parts. The fake can would have to go though.
