Now who did not see this coming?
The customer wants a $10 pizza and if the government demands a $15 min wage then something has to give.
Can't cut the cost of the ingredients otherwise you don't have a pizza.
Can't close the physcial store otherwise you can't cook the pizza.
So what's left? Yup the workers which are costing way too much.

locally Jack-in-the-Box already has them in place. I used it more often than the employee because my order would be right more often

You do realize this is going to happen regardless? If your job could possibly be done by a robot, you've picked the wrong career, because you will eventually be replaced.

I'm thinking, with the right incentives for development, most jobs could be replaced. Probably even yours.

Was in Italy last month. All the mcdonalds had no counter people. You ordered and paid on huge iPad looking things in the area you stand to wait for your food. If paying cash you ordered on the big iPad then went to the counter to pay the person putting orders on the counter and calling numbers. So basically one person at the counter instead of 3 or 4.

As for the youth. Now would be a good time to start teaching more robotic classes and how to upkeep those robots. That will be the new min wage jobs as you are still going to need a tech or 2 to drive around and fix the robots.

It'll never catch on here. The human element alone will ruin it.

In a restaurant environment with people and tables there is absolutely no way a robot can be as efficient as a person. They can't hurry, they can't multitask quickly.

Do you really believe this? Have you worked in a production environment around robots??

    It will occur here.
You already see some of it at the stores.
Self checkout. 1 cashier for 4 to 6 kios at walmart.

Chase banks have more advance atm machine inside then tellers.

At fast food places this will occur.
The people want a 2 for $5 big mac. Only way to continue at that price is cut something. Profits will not be cut. So you have material or labor left. Cant cut material as a burger must still be a burger.

Self checkout is NOT a robot. Come on man. I'll ask again. Have you been around working robots? There's a reason they don't work with humans
