I purchased a beater Springfield 1911 missing the off side ambi safety. Would anyone happen to have an extra? I am hoping to just be able to slide it in to match the other side. No one sells just the off side and I hate to have to have a whole new one fitted by Gunsmith if I could just find one.

    Thanks everyone

They're not a universal fit. Different brands may not fit other brands. You might get lucky but I wouldn't spend more than a few bucks if you find the right side piece (which will be hard). I would just shell out the bucks for a new safety and have it fitted to your gun and unless you really need the ambi safety just get a standard one. Most of the ambis I have seen will loosen up and come apart like yours did.

Thanks, I would be fine with the standard safety. Just thought it might be worth a try. I will be calling a gunsmith monday if i can't come up with one.

    Thanks again
