1911 safety problem

I have a para ltc 9mm 1911 the problem I am having is that the hammer drops with the safety on and the safety drops to the off position. Any ideas on what might be broke or what I might look for as a problem.

The thumb safety is not working correctly and is allowing the sear to move. It was either cut wrong or something broke.

You need to take it to someone and get it fixed before further use.

Sounds like the hammer hooks might be worn/broken...

Does it do that even if you don't press the grip safety?

It will not drop the hammer if the grip safety is not pressed. I have not had it apart and its all factory no trigger job.

Jetgirl got it right took the gun apart for the first time today and the hammer hooks were worn on the tip so it was rounded looks like I will be needing a new hammer.
