A friend of mine was recently given a single shot .22 by his grandpa but he doesn't have the bolt. It's a 1945 Springfield Model 83 and it's a single shot. Does anyone have an idea where we could start looking for a replacement?

I have scoured those sites as well as the interwebs and I can not find anything. I'm sure that I'm looking for a needle in a haystck but who knows.

Thank you for the suggestion but neither site had anything for this rifle. After doing a little more research, it's a slightly older model and is technically a stevens/springfield model 83.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Ok looked at an older Numrich book i have (about 10 yrs old) I found a stock that fits Savage/Stevens/springfield 3, 3c, 3d, 3e, 53c, 53cd, 53d, 83
I would pull up these models and see if any of them are the same just a newer version or model re designation.
You might see if these were produced for someone else, like relabeled a western- field or sears or some such thing.

Just did a little digging on the net, Springfield model 83 was made from 1935-1939 also made for Sears as the Ranger model 103 and a version for J.C. Higgins. They sold for $25 new.
Sorry that was all I found, but I didn't dig deep.
