For sale or trade: S&W 1957 (S&W customer service confirmed the serial date) Model 36 J Frame with a flat latch and square butt in .38 special. It is a great carry piece and 100% functional.

DAO, spurless hammer, rounded trigger face. Holster wear & scratches from 55 years of carry. S&W quality - still locks up tight!

Comes with original wood grips, Pachmyr combat grips, HKS speed loader, bianchi speed strip, Galco leather ankle holster and a DeSantis SOF-Tuck IWB holster.

Was given this as payment for a job, but don't care for revolvers.

Considering the age, I thought it prudent to ask, is this chambered for .38spl or .38S&W?

The model 36 is chambered for 38 special only since it was introduced in the early 50's. Don't let the age fool you, it's still a great firearm and with proper care and maintenance it should last a lifetime
