    I am looking for a 22 rim fire with a 1/10 twist barrel. I can't find one.

I need the 1/10 so I can shoot the Aguila 60 gr that I bought. I have over a 1000 of them. I got them at a good price.

I didn't think about the average 22 rim fire not handling the 60gr with out key holing. I am thinking I am going to have to build one out of a 10-22.

Would any one have any better ideas? I am open to suggestions.

I have not heard of a 1:10 twist for .22lr, but I ain't the smartest guy around. here are two barrels that are 1:9. Tactical Innovations is also another place to check for 1:9 barrels, but they say they are out of stock right now.

Iffn you don't find what you are looking for, are you interested in selling the Aguila SSS ammo?

have you attempted to shoot them out of more standard 22 barrels? You may be surprised at the results.

I do know that CZ utilizes 1:9 on their rifles.

If you own a suppressor - check with the manufacturer to determine if shooting the 60gr stuff is recommended. For mine it's a no-go.

I have used them in two guns that I have and they key holed in both. The rifle is a Weatherby and the hand gun is a Ruger Mark 3.

May be I should just buy a CZ. I will check them out. That may be better than having to build one. Thanks for the information.

I just went to there web site and they only list a 1/16 for the 22RF. They do list a 1/9 for the 17. So that is a no go.

Green Mountain makes a 1:10 or 1:9 twist barrel, specifically for those faster, hotter rounds. I believe they are all .920 diameter (o.d.) barrels... but are for the standard 10/22 receiver.

Check their website for being currently in stock. Or look on Shooters Discount websute. They carry quite a few GM barrels.

CZ's website states 1:16 for the 452 and others.

I agree here. I have shot the 60 gr stuff out of a lot of guns and rarely had any kind of keyholing issue. in fact, I have a Henry Survival Rifle that shoots these extremely well, like under an 1" at 25 yds with the peep factory sights.

Hey, have any of you shot an ar15 with one of those cmmg 22 drop in conversion kits? Do they stabilize the bullet? That would be the only non custom barrel config I could think of that has enough twist to stabilize the 60 grain aguila.

I've got several boxes of it but am very leery of shooting it through my can.

    GM 1:9

I just sold a 10/22 with a GM 1:9 barrel. It is NOT intended for "faster hotter" ammo. It is intended for 60 gr Aguila SSS ammo. This ammo has a heavy long bullet on a much shorter case and is s-l-o-o-o-o-w. The gun also shot 40 gr standard velocity .22lr well.

You are correct, and the link I posted says just that. I just mis-spoke in my first post.

I will be ordering the Green Mountain barrel. Then I will have to find a 10/22. I know, good luck with that. I am in no hurry.
