I'm new to the .223, so I'm not sure what a good price or bad price is. Just run of the mill target/varmint ammo. Can someone give me a hint?
    Thanks

Retail decent for brass seems to be .35-.40/round. Online you can get 500/1000 rounds for close to .30/round shipped online. My lgs has brass cased for .50/round... thats overpriced IMO.
Steel is usually about .20/round retail or shipped online.

You can pick up a 100 round value pack of Federal 55 gr FMJ .223 for $39 and some change at WalMart.

For a frame of reference, I think that my .223 55gr's (using hornady bulk FMJ's) is costing me about .25/round. So .30-.35 sounds excellent for the trouble.
