Any one have a 22LR chamber reamer they are willing to loan me, so I can reline my 1898 Hopkins and Allen falling block? I am in the Columbus, In. area,

I know I'll probably catch hell over this, but several years ago I was in need of a .22 cal. chamber reamer. I couldn't find one anywhere so I ended up using a drill bit that was the same size as the chamber. I turned it in by hand until I reached the correct depth. I've since used it on several replacement barrels, so far it has served me well and I have had no issues by using it.

If your barrel has a recess for the cartridge rim, you can cut the recess on a lathe. On some bolt action .22s the rim protrudes from the end of the barrel and the recess is in the bolt face. A lot of older .22s will accept .22 short, longs, and long rifle, so you would want to just cut the depth deep enough to accept the long rifle cartridge. Hope this additional information helps.
