Has anyone experimented with a conversion of a .357 mag H&R Handi Rifle to .357 Maximum? It might be interesting and I, for one, can't see any negatives other than the cost of a chamber reamer.

    I had 2 plus another

I have had two Handi rifles rechambered to .357 max. Sent the barrels to D&T Custom gun works and had David do my chambers for me. Both shoot excellent and can still shoot .38, .357 mag and .357 max. I sold the thumbhole one and built my third on a CVA Apex with a custom barrel from D&T also. In fact I'm going out to shoot them in a little while
If you want to do the rechamber yourself I think it is pretty easy and on the H&R forum on Graybeard Outdoors they loan or rent a reamer out for you to use. It is an excellent deer round and is very accurate out to 150 plus yards.

Thanks, randy 68, I'm a toolmaker and I have a lathe in my garage so I think I'll give that a shot.
