Okay, I know that .410 and .45 are basically the same, we have the Judge and Circuit Judge, Public Defender, Governor yadda yadda. We also have the Saiga .410. Is it possible to fire .45lc out of one? I know it's probably a dumb question, but I honestly am curious because guys at the 1500 selling them weren't sure.

I do not own a Saiga, but I would imagine that the barrel, like other shotguns, is not rifled. If you could fire the .45LC out of it, accuracy would be non-existent.

Absolutely do not do this! A .45 LC bullet has a diameter of .454 to .452 (lead vs. jacketed). A true .410 bore shotgun has a bore diameter of .410.

Well, I guess I shouldn't say absolutely, it's your gun and your potential risk to life and limb.

The mas rec. pressures are close, believe it or not- 13,500 cup for the 3" .410 (12.500 cup for the 2.5") and 14,000 cup for the .45 colt.

But as karl said, the length is very different- 1.6" oal for the colt, 2.5" and 3" for the .410. In an semi-auto? Probably not. I've never seen a semi-auto designed for both, only wheel guns and single shots, I imagine because things like overall length and pressure variations do not effect functioning that much..

No doubt! I do not own one, simply because of this question. I well, however, own a Saiga 12 next year. It would be sooner, but good grief they're expensive!
