Midway USA sent me 5.56 magnum primers by tullamo instead of tullamo .223 small rifle primers like I ordered.. Error on there part they advised.. My question is can these be used in normal .223 brass I have or will I need 5.56 brass? This would be my first time reloading.. Im waiting on my manuals before I actually start loading but im just needing to see if they will or will not work so I can return them if they wouldnt.. Thanks

Use them - I believe that have harder cups.

Use them, yes, but caution shwould be taken. As is my understanding, they in fact have the same cup hardness. A CCI #41 is a hard primer, perhaps this is what you were thinking of?

These in fact are hotter than a standard SRP (Small Rifle Primer) and should not be used interchangeably with SRP universally. These are more comparable with a Small Bench Rest primer. They are hotter, they will create higher pressures with certain powders.

Remember, especially as a beginner to reloading, if you don't have your ingredients listed on the recipe you shouldn't bake the cake. IE: if you don't have published load data to work from, you are wrong.
