Are there any standard civilian channels out there to buy rifles chambered in calibers over 50? I've seen some shotguns that were non-exempt that were categorized as destructive devices, but I was thinking somehting along these lines: RT-20 (rifle) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There are a number of other DD Rifles out there and they will transfer just like an MG, Silencer, SBR or other NFA. What exactly are you looking for? It would help for reference purposes if we had an idea of what you wanted to know exactly. It is possible to build a gun which is a DD as well. If you have some plan for building something it could be feasible......

Unfortunately the RT 20 is a foreign weapon and if imported could only be transferred or possessed by an SOT paying dealer/manufacturer. If it is foreign built and wasn't imported prior to december of 1968 it can't be owned by a normal person. On the other hand anything built here in the US or imported prior to the dec 68 deal is transferable to anyone who can legally own a DD. There are lots of Solothurn and Lahti 20mm rifles, PTRS or PTRD 14.5mm rifles and others....

There are also "big bore" sporting rifles that don't have any goofy laws/restrictions on them.
