    9 Iron or 1 Wood, which do you prefer for a self defense tool? I like the warmth and beauty of the old style wood clubs although some of the more modern clubs have a satisfying "ping" sound when they make contact with the target. The 9 Iron is a bit more compact (concealable) and maybe a little quicker to deploy. What say you INGO?

    I'd use the driver simply because of the USGA rule that lets me use the longest club in my bag when I have to deal with an 'unnatural hazard'.
