    Your late to the party.

As far as the tax goes. I think its hilarious and deserving of the people of Illinois. One of these days they will stop being subjects. Who knows, maybe this will be the push for them to finally start voting the right people in office.

Just got home from a weekend visit to Burbank/Oak Lawn area, and was reminded how much I love our little fly-over slice of heaven.

How did Illinois end up being like the Midwest's version of California?

Through over a century of criminal politicians keeping a stranglehold on the people by pandering to the unions, creating an ever increasing welfare dependency, and endless tax increases to fund ever expanding govt. A real cesspool strongly supported by liberals who continue to vote the criminal socialists into office.. The smart folks leave. I finally did. It will never change there.

There are three states I will not live in, visit or even buy products from - these are ILLINOIS, California and New Jersey... I remember when I was a young lad, (1950's,60's) learning of the political corruption in ILL, Back then any traffic stop, overweight truck infraction, or most misdemeanors, even felonies could be wiped off the books with a little cash. Not sure it is any better now. Until the citizens decide to rid the state and local governments of corrupt liberal politicians, I doubt it will ever change for the better.

Plenty of folks fighting the battle.....

Correct. Springfield and Chicago is Illinois. I did a lot of utility work in Eastern and Central IL. I actually met a lot of nice 'gun guys' out there. Unfortunately, they don't have a chance vs . their super anti-gun/nanny-state metros. I told them that Indiana's big and has enough space for all of them. As it stands, when I see family in Missouri I'm forced to drive back through IL. In the car or on the bike, I fill up in Terre Haute and don't stop until I'm in St. Louis (west of.).
