Is there any way of getting rid of these ads? Getting difficult to read the first post in a thread. Also unable to watch a video if it's posted in the first thread.

I have never seen these because I am one... or the issue is on your end.

...although I must say I'd be disappointed in the Admin if they have gone so low as to put ads in posts.

As I recall the new owner appeared to have implemented that injected ad software on anonymous browsers, but once people signed in they went away. Maybe he tightened the screws a bit since then to include all free viewers? Which would make business sense. He bought the site to make money after all. Maybe that means more ad revenue for the freeloaders?

I am glad someone brought this up. Hard to read first post and noticed adds in my replys.

    Sucks and is frustrating.

I had this happen on my cell phone just now. I have to say it's aweful.

If my opinion as a 2008 member and site supporter means anything... Please get rid of them.

I can think of few things thay would turn off a potential new member from being a regular poster faster than invasive advertising.
