Im Looking to get wasr but I have always been told that they are terrible for distance shooting. The only I know to do is to purchase a scope to help your aim

I love my krebs peep sights on my yugo m70. I can hit a 15" steel plate at 150 yards all day long, taking fast shots, using cheap tulammo crap

The AK has a selector that goes from safe to full to semi. That right there tells you the philosophy driving the design. It's meant to be a "minute of bad guy" rifle at best, but mostly a "hose them down with lead until they stop shooting back" weapon. It unashamedly adopts the StG44 philosophy of overwhelming firepower at the kind of ranges that units typically engage. There's nothing inherently defective in the action that limits its accuracy, but accuracy was never an objective, so you're lucky if you get it. Don't expect much, and you won't be disappointed, but you may yet have a nice surprise.

AK47 - you can hit the side of a barn if you are inside the barn.
AR - you can hit the side of a barn if you are inside of 600 yards.

Holy moly! That's great shooting for an ak!
I had a 74 that would have key hole marks close together! HAHA
