Yes, I am about 95% sold on the idea of making my next handgun purchase a good ole CZ-75BD in 9x19. It's been many, many years since I've actually played around with one, but I don't remember having any negative impressions from back then. I was a die hard 1911 guy at the time, so.....

Now to find one locally and reacquaint myself with how they feel in hand.

Consider it a "Euro" 1911. I have the 75B in matte stainless, and LOVE it, courtesy of llh1956. It's a frickin' scalpel if I hold still. I also have a P-01 that The Wizard has done surgery on. Regardless of Cajun Gunworks upgrades, I never really took a shine to the 1911 platform, but love my revolvers and CZs for my all-metal guns. Once upgraded with CG love, the SA on both CZs is on par with the Dan Wesson V-Bob I used to own. And nothing has ever fit my hand, or pointed as naturally for me, as a CZ.

YMMV, but I don't think you'll be sorry. There are a couple upgrades you may want to do sooner than later, but the CZ is a phenomenal platform to invest in.

I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but IMHO, this is as beautiful as any 1911 I have ever laid eyes on. And it shoots as good as it looks.

I was consumed by the CZickness.
    1911 guy tried and true.
I had 5 or 7 (:dunno:) of them but down to the 2 that really work for me. 97B and an SP-01 Phantom.
They are secure in the safe with the 10 1911's

If you are/were a "die hard" 1911 guy, I am a little surprised you would go with the BD. It would be good if you could find someone with a few Cajunized models to try.

You'll love the 75! As BA says, if you're a "die hard" 1911 guy, you might want to look into the safety model. I know I've seen pics of modified safeties with a ledge so you can ride the safety like you do on a 1911. I'm thinking about finding one for my 75B.

I don't know guys, I consider myself a die hard 1911 guy and prefer the decocker models. Why? The safety on the CZ is not as big and easy to reach as it is on any of my 1911s, including the GI style. I carry my CZs on the half cock notch and getting there is easier with a decocker than it is with a safety style CZ.

Regardless of which you choose Cerberus, you'll love the platform. The full size 75 feels like it was molded to your hand and while the trigger out of the box is not bad, with tuning, it is fantastic. CZs and 1911s are a nice combination in any collection.

Cz's are nice, there should be something in the area of 2043:dunno: pages of "good mornings" and "cajunized" comment to sustain your mind for about 4 freakin weeks of reading. Enjoy!

I was a die hard 1911 fan, and in few ways I still am. On the other hand my "horizon" has broadened a bit since my early/mid 20s. I've learned over the years that the 1911 is not the ONLY fun handgun around even if it is still my favorite. My Sigs have spoiled me with the decock feature.

Update! Got to handle one Sunday afternoon, and I am now 100% certain that this will be my next handgun purchase. Now to find a buyer for my Sig P6.
