amt 380 backup

I i'm thinking about trading for a amt 380 backup anyone have any experience with these are they junk or not....

I've heard the .380 AMTs were the most reliable of the AMT brand and even then the reliability was hit or miss.

Very hit or miss on the reliability. I had one that I had 0 issues with but have saw some that we're paperweights! Man o man are they a pain to take down!

yeah thats what i've been reading . He said he's put 150rds with no problems so i don't know.....

I've had one for some 15 years or so. It is my pocket EDC or BUG. It has probably 50 Rds through it in that time. I carry it with Hydra-Shoks which it digests flawlessly. Keeping the pocket link cleaned out and using Weapon Shield to lube it seems to be a good recipe for success. I like it. I trust it.

Don't see these very often anymore.
Mine has been a reliable shooter. Its been used as a backup gun for two generations. It has had ftf that were attributed to a magazine issue. Changed magazines and no more issues.
And I agree, they can be a bit trying to take apart for servicing.

I had one for years. At first I got stove pipe FTE type failures but after some practice, a revised firm grip, good cleaning & lube the gun wore in pretty good and became dependable. I only sold it off to reduce the number of ammo types I had & 380 was near impossible to get for a while.
