Yeah, but you missed the important questions, like how tactical was their selection of eyewear/sunglasses or boots? Did they look all tactical and stuff?

Shoes that take a shine, 8 point hats and ties
. When they dressed like that they were smart enough to have a horse holder.

I pay for that stuff. Draw straws and leave one guy behind.

I read this and thought, "Wrong thread Kirk, this isn't the RIP Martin Milner of Adam-12 thread."

As a physician, I can say that I'm constantly "practicing". No two people or cases are exactly alike, so every case helps me practice for the next one. And yes that means I'm "practicing" on people.

Maybe, many patrol rifles are privately owned, most of the guys I work with have bought their own. Mine is my own. If it gets stolen, no insurance, no tax money, I replace it out of my pocket.

You forget, I read the budgets.:D

The High-Tailin' Hillbilly's rifle I bought. I betcha a six pack of Zombie Dust that the good people of Anderson bought that one.

Regardless of who bought it (and I have no problem buying cops rifles, just train them) let's focus our police on re-focus on logic, instead of pretending to be ninjas.

I have friends and family employed by APD and I have never heard of anyone purchasing a firearm to use as a service weapon.
Now I have personal knowledge that issue service firearms are sold to employees of the dept at super reduced prices.

Guess I assumed long guns were in a ceiling locking device or trunk. You guys don't use these? Cops.
I used to have mine in one of those until thieves were targeting marked vars with rifles in racks. It takes them about 30 seconds to rip the mount out. They then take it someplace to cut the rifle out. Mine is now in a trunk, no one knows it's in there. You cannot see it walking past it.

    Really? Must be nice.

Yep,, ain't it great... Our tax dollars at work... The best or worst ones I know of were two Rem 40X's with LR Leupolds and acc.. In pelicans sold for under 5 hundred each.. Along with somewhere between 60 to 90 rem 870's that are MIA...

Surely that's an exaggeration? I wouldn't expect APD to even have more than 30 officers at most (it doesn't say on their website)?

Don't make me put doctors up there with dentists, lol.

I would bet that those "missing" 870s aren't missing at all. Check your retirees, as it had been a longtime custom for officers to take their service weapons when they retired. Poor booking is probably the more likely culprit.
