Was wondering about the super cab leg room in the 92-97 era and 99-03 era and if I should bump up to a crew cab. Super cab Diesels from both eras seem to be cheaper and they have the bulletproof 7.3.

I have always had dully crewcabs but for a Dodge with the club cab.
My SIL got a used Ford crewcab with the short bed.
I really like it for a non dully truck.

My dad has a 2001 f150 ext cab and its adequate but not a ton of room. I wouldnt want to be back there much more than short in town trips. Its fine for kids and shorter adults though.

I wouldn't want to spend an extended stay in the back seat of my truck but it works great for short trips or my dogs. Although thinking back, it does have a more comfortable back seat and "seems" to have more leg room than the '89 R3500 Chevy 4 door dually that preceded it.

Crew cabs rule, I have a '94 Chevy 1 ton crew cab diesel and the back seat is spacious. Many friends with Ford's crew cabs and they are pretty much the same IMO. My F-250 is a regular cab :):

All advice in this thread is sound. If you can afford the crew cab and haul the family a lot and can afford it go with the crew cab for sure. If you like your bed space go with the super or regular. I have a ford but it's a reg cab.

You can still have the full size bed with the crew cab.

I had a 95 ford extended cab and the rear seating was ok for kids and short trips for adults. I have a 05 ford 250 crew cab and can sit 4 adults in the rear easily.

I have an '03 4x4 Supercrew lariat. Loaded with everything. My wife bought it for me for Christmas back in '02. I love the four doors for the family and the rear seat room is great. It's been a great truck.

The rear seats fold forward to create a large flat area if you don't want to put things on the seats.

I have a 96' super cab f250 diesel. I love the truck. And like others have said, it's ok for adults in the back for short rides, but no road trips back there.

And I wish that the back had doors like the 98 and up super duty's
