Well I already know the west side is off limits for people like me (nerdy, white, middle class British) but luckily I should be based on the east somewhere.

Is Middletown a nice area? It's north of 64 on the east side.

I already found a couple of gun shops within 5 miles :D

I have the chance to transfer to a store there, so.. I will go ahead and tell my manager and she can start the paperwork.

Right now we're looking at living in Kentucky...

There are tolls? The bridge that takes 65 over the river was free?

She is moving to a new job at a hotel right by Blankenbaker and 64 so I am looking at which store I can transfer to. There's a few on the west side :P but the one in Middletown looked nice and is only a mile or so from her work.

Since you asked the question here I'm not going to PM you back, instead I'll just answer here. I checked with my Dad to confirm that the Middletown area is still a nice area. I've been away for awhile, but couldn't see it going down hill that fast. The East side of town has always been considered the wealthy side of town. I would definately advise you not to try to commute from Indiana. Traffic is a nightmare and will only get worse. There are no toll bridges yet. They are talking like they will put tolls into effect to help pay for the new bridge.

Thanks :). I heard the south side is wealthier than the east and google earth seems to besr witness to that too lol.

    Appreciate it.

Her move isn't yet 100% so I'm just putting the feelers out.

East side is wealthier. The south side is blue collar. Good folks there. Louisville is a very neat place and is kind of like Austin, TX in a way. A great music scene and Bardstown Road is kind of like a mini Greenwich Village with spinning hippies and cool little stores. Alot of Anglophiles in Louisville so I would juice up your British accent. They will dig it.:D

These ads were kind of funny and the one that is like a cialis ad actually made national news.

Lol thanks I'll take a look at those.

I LOVE the Kentucky accent .. especially on a girl. I think it's me who's going to be drooling over accents.

Be prepared for you to be "separated by a common language" if you're there!

And if you go further south...and/or more rural... The difference between England English and Kentucky English grows wider.

If I HAD to live in another state besides Indiana, I think I could handle Kentucky. (Except for all the University of Kentucky fans)

Oh...and to "them", "UK" has a totally different meaning. Get used to that if you move. hehe

I dated a girl from Bradford in Yorkshire UK that had moved to Louisville. Whenever her kin would come visit from across the pond she would say, "Would you go in there and talk to them?" I would answer "I don't know what to say." She would then say "It doesn't matter, they just want to hear your accent, say "worsh" (wash)
    , they love that one.":D

I grew up 20 miles from Bradford (but I have a completely different accent, that's the UK for you... sorry, Britain).

You go 20 miles in this state and the accent hardly changes.

Anyway - thanks for the advice. Are there any Indytucky (I think Indiana should come first) gun groups down there? Are they active like the NWI group is?

So... has anyone moved from IN to KY recently?

I know I have to tell the ISP about my LTCH. Do we need to tell our BMV we're moving across the river?

How long can I drive on IN plates and on an IN DL? More importantly, how would an LEO know that I've moved and not just visiting...

Is the KY CDW really that hard to get?
