Anyone have problems with PPU ammo?

Hey all,

I went to the range today to shoot off my Bersa Thunder 380. I have only had one FTF or FTE with this gun ever. Then today I went and got 2-3 Failures to Feed. When it went to feed it seemed to eject the old round, put in a new one, then get caught going up the feed ramp and was going up towards the sky. I switched ammo after this to Federal and everything went fine. This gun has shot federal, winchester, hollow points, Tula steel cased, etc. and has never had an issue. I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems with this ammo before?

Guess you've found what ammo your gun doesn't like...

Seriously, though, not to be sarcastic or anything, but finding this out at the practice range is a GOOD thing.

Keep the rest of the ammo (if you have more) and then you can use it to work on practicing malfunction clearing while you're at the range.

I love PPU ammo, I've never had any failures with it and I've shot quite a bit of it.

I've shot some of it but not a lot, and all in .45. Its always performed fine for me.

Ditto with the 7.62x51 (.308Win) ammo.

I shot 150 rounds of 7.62x25 PPU and just about every single one malfunctioned in some way

I've shot nearly everything in my bersa .380 no failures at all. I have well over 500round out of it. You could always polish the feed ramp some. That smoothed out the problems with a p-11 we had.

My Bersa Thunder 9 fed PPU just fine, but it was just 1 box. Oddly enough that same gun hates WWB. Go figure.

Well its good to know that ONE person has had problems with it lol. I couldn't go a single mag without it malfunctioning. And I agree its better to learn that now rather than later. Thats why I fired some of my hollow points off so I could make sure they didn't have this issue. And yeah EVERYONE says how the Bersa's just eat whatever you feed them and I haven't had a single issue until this type. Strange.

I also had trouble with their .380 ammo, but not the .45acp. Maybe it's their small pistol calibers that suck. I have noticed that it is also very dirty.
