I'm going to guess making 44 magnum or 44 special brass out of 444 Marlin brass.

Using cut down .444 brass to load .44 for your revolver ?

If it's what I think it is the going rate is pretty good.

Anyways that isn't the only consideration in choosing to do something. I've done plenty of things not based on value.

im gonna guess hes using those cases to get a longer case and also a much heavier web section to help keep the primer pockets from expanding.
Or he coould just be having fun.
