    That's "had" a contract (it was circa 2005, and was split 3 ways with Colt and SIG), and what they did right was build test guns that could pass muster, and put in an attractive bid. ;)

    That is correct but RRAs were ordered and delivered(actually '03). Sig didn't supply any ARs but 55x series rifles. The DEA is now getting their ARs from LMT(M6A2) as of 2009.;)

    The brand does matter to me, as I researched my first buy I found out what I wanted and what I didn't and bought the rifle that was the closest thing to what I wanted out of the box. My next will be from the same company because they treated me right. Can I get this same thing from some of the top brands, maybe, but I will stick with what and who works for me. I would tell anyone else to do the same, whatever brand or maker that is.
