AR Magnified Optics? Help!

Unfortunately, no. A worn out sump pump had different ideas for this money. I am going to begin doing some more research in the coming days and weeks.

I have been following a couple of these AR optics threads and now am thoroughly confused. I would like a good quality, 1-4x optic for my general beat around PSA carbine. It would be my "go to" if the zombies were to arise. Right now I have an old Aimpoint 5000 with 2x magnification and some cheaper quick detach rings that I don't care for. With the 2x magnification, I cannot really use the backup sights well (since the front sight is magnified) so that is why I went with some QD rings, but they just do not impress me. It will probably go on my son's SKS or my little Hi-Point plinker carbine at some point.

I would love something simple like an Aimpoint with the ungodly long battery life (saw one in the classifieds here for a decent price) but my eyes demand a little magnification now. I do not want the weight of an additional flip to the side magnifier.
