Just looking to break into the AR15 platform. Never had one so it will be a general shooter that will prolly develop into Red dot tatical fun gun. Just thoughts on the brands picked and overall build. Just curious from more experienced individuals with AR15's.

Hunting coyotes... 100yrds... blowing apart rodents... 50... self defense 50 or 25.
I liked my old setup... red dot was set up at 50 and laser was setup at 25

I have mine zeroed at 200 yards with a 6-24x scope

I'd recommend buying an aimpoint PRO and ZERO at 50 yards. Its the best 400 bucks I have spent on my AR

I zero mine the exact way I did all those years in uniform. 25/300m zero for irons, the RDS backs those up.

I clicked 50, but I prefer actually zeroing at 200 and letting the first cross-over be approximately 50...

After doing a lot of reading, including here, I opted to zero my scope at 100 yards and my RDS at 50 yards.

You can zero at anything you want as long as you understand the relationship of the dots on the targets on the post above yours.
