I'll put this here, although I suspect a thread will be started on it:
Suspicious package in Avon home determined to be non-explosive - 13 WTHR Indianapolis

Part of The Settlement neighborhood was evacuated Wednesday morning in Avon due to a suspicious package found.

A home on Liatrice Drive was vacated when a cleaning crew found a device upstairs and snapped a photo. The bomb squad and Avon Fire Department were called in.

The item in question was determined to be non-explosive. The evacuation has now been lifted.

Elsewhere it was reported that 35 homes were evacuated.

So, let me get this straight: a nosy cleaning crew found something they didn't recognize in the upstairs of a house, alerts law enforcement, and they evacuate 35 nearby homes. What - was it labeled "Thermonuclear Bomb"? "Fat Man and Little Boy"? "Flux Capacitor"? "Marital aid"?

Called Dell Support to get a CMOS battery replacement on an XPS 14z. They said they approved dispatch to come out and replace the entire motherboard.

    ...

Are you kidding me? I told them that's ridiculous, I just need the CMOS battery. She said, "Ok I will just send the battery."

Even worse was when the H popped off one of my laptops, and they refused to do anything but have me send the whole thing in, do [deity of your choice] knows what to it, and put the whole thing back to factory state, so I'd be without it for 3 weeks and lose my dual boot and all my data. Drop an H key in an envelope and mail it to me? Why would they do that, just because I'm more qualified than any two of them to fix it?
