There is an incredible disconnect between many states and the federal government right now. We have states legalizing pot, while the fed still wages its war on it. We have the government growing more and more intrusive in the name of "terrorism" which is code for a war without end, while the states are trying to maintain personal liberties. I may be young, but I have never seen our country so split.

We are supposed to be a nation of 50 "sovereign" states. The federal government has become far too intrusive and over-reaching.

AZ also has privatized prisons so they probably don't want the sheer volume of "criminals" to get out.
