I completely agree with him yet I don't know if I could have the same level of courage if I was in the same situation. I'll settle for half his energy when I am his age!

I was in Maricopa Co. several years ago. I wish I had known about Sheriff Joe then. I would have made an appointment to shake his hand and thank him.

Haldir, good question, especially since he was once asked about his playing of Newt Gingrich's lectures in the tent jail... The question was about his giving equal time to a Democrat speaker. Sheriff Joe's response was along the lines of "That's probably who they were listening to that got them here in the first place!" (not an exact quote)

I don't support some of the mala prohibita laws he enforces, but I respect the man for faithfully doing the job he was hired to do. A pit bull is no more tenacious... nor is Sheriff Joe any less loyal to his oath.
