So on Saturday I went to Kokomo with my family to do some shopping. after hitting up the super awesome man stores (HF and rural king) we went to the mall. I went to old navy, american eagle, and aeropostale the majority of the employees and customers were teenage to mid 20s girls and guys that dressed pretty girly in the same age group. Only one person said anything about me carrying a gun and all she asked was what kind it was. then I walk over to sears, while standing in the tool section an employee tells me i have to leave:):. I thought it was hillarious that of all the stores i went to before that i was asked to leave in the tool section at sears.

Maybe, maybe not. His felony was 36 years ago. And he can probably afford decent attorneys. I know of several people that have committed non violent felonies, and had their rights restored.

That very well might be, but did they do federal time for trafficking 1.4 lbs of cocaine ? He's a good guy, he has done well for himself. I may be wrong but I believe he would have to get a presidential pardon.

Just like a typical INGO story, always forgetting to mention the part where you dropped your pants to show her your "gun." That's why you were asked to leave.

A little bit of decent exposure never hurt anyone! :): he was probably just trying to change their mind about making him leave! I'm sure he pulled them up quickly though lol

Overrated and over priced...I'm actually surprised they're still around! They bought out Kmart to keep them alive, now they're shutting them down too. I think the sears in Anderson is still around...not sure cause I try not to go back to Anderson much lol I moved for a reason

I'm surprised that Sears has enough customers to ask anyone to leave... That said, is there a sign (not that it would carry any weight of law in IN) on the mall door, etc? I'm guessing there is, as most malls seem to have them.

And here we have yet another "asked to leave" a freaking SIMON PROPERTY.

Why would anyone be surprised by being asked to leave a Simon property? Seriously?

Clearly the big story here is that there was a customer at Sears. Since they're not used to that anymore, you clearly looked out of place. The firearm had nothing to do with it.

This. The part in purple anyway.

Sears can't really afford to turn away any customers at this point, armed or not.

Not much of a story, really. Simon Malls are notoriously (and hypocritically) anti-freedom.

Though, I am fairly certain Sears itself "follows local laws". I know the free-standing Sears stores do.

Yeah...I figure it may be another story of an employee following company rules for employees and applying it to customers or applying mall rules as if they're store rules.

I avoid Simon properties whenever possible. Unfortunately, I have a daughter who loves The Cheesecake Factory. But concealed is concealed, so I've never had a problem.

I would bet it was the mall policy that got you kicked out not sears policy. Was it a sears employee or a mall guard?
