    My point is in the irony of defending the guy as if he were the victim one minute and then bailing out at a furious pace when he sees his client "victim" now may be armed.

    I think that is very amusing.............

    I thought it would be pretty obvious. Crystalship1 got it.

    Gaining distance only buys you a little time if the bad guy gets a gun. Armed or unarmed, you better believe I'm going to be doing my damnedest to keep him from getting that gun in the first place.

    I'd tend to agree here thinking about it logically. In the moment though, I admit to not knowing what my lizard brains reaction would be. Since it's a court room, I'm pretty certain I wouldn't be armed with anything more than a pointy stick that says #2 on the side of it.
