After letting everyone run out of stock for almost a year, Hornady has opened the 105 floodgates.

Just returned from hunting up north to find these on my doorstep. I was hoping to rest before heading out for the south trip, but they aren't going to moly and load check themselves.

Yeah, I just got a bunch that was back ordered at Midway for several months. I forgot about the backorder, it was so long ago. There were NONE at Camp Perry this last summer.

I use these in my 6mm AR out to 600 yards. I get about 2850 out of a 26 inch barrel.

mabye they are finally getting there act together on the amax line. i know folks that would sell there first born for some 208 amaxes. im about to do some load development on a win mag and i just changed the first bullet to try because i got tired of waithing on amaxes and if i find a good load i dont want all the hassle of not being able to get them.

mabye the 140 amax will be next

I wish they would invent a .257" AMax.

I mostly shoot 105s in a 243AI at 3220fps using RL17 and moly. I have a 6-284 that will go faster, but it is a tank and I seldom drag it out.

Barrel life is terrible but that provides the opportunity to experience different barrel maker's wares first hand. With heavier bullets it lasted just past 700 rounds.

Would hate to run light bullets through it.

I hope you are doing something very important with each of those bullets.

The 243 is a "barrel burner". Your rifle is a super magnum "barrel burner". I believe your statement about a 700 round barrel life with this cartridge.

What do you use the rifle for?

    Curious....
