Baiting for Coyotes

Is it legal to set out baits and shot coyotes over the bait?

If you have permission from the landowner or are hunting them in season and have a license I'm not sure there's too much that isn't legal for killing the nasty critters.

Yup. Legal. Roadkill works. I use dead hogs from my buddies hog building.

We get permits to pick up roadkill and use them all the time. Works great and brings in many other forms of wildlife to watch. We have fox, skunk, opossum (one of which was killed on camera by a coyote while at the bait pile), owls, hawks and, of course, coyotes.

got a buddy who does this with a driveway alarm near the bait so he knows when they are there works pretty good

I plan to do this; I have a few friends doing the same thing. They pick up roadkills from the folks at the state highway garage and stake them down so they can't be drug off.
