I have 4 507c x2's now. Even with astigmatism, I found the glass and distortion to be the least for me. But one thing I've learned is that every eye is very unique. Sig Zero looked horrible for me. I've been told to go to a sports eye wear specialist who works with shooters/optics to make sure they correct it with corrective lenses correctly.

Get a primary arms SLX 1x prism. I have a pretty severe astigmatism, and it feels just as quick to use as my aimpoints do, yet can be dialed in to look great.

The eye relief and eyebox is so absurdly huge that it really doesn't present an issue for me.

I share your astigmatism woes. I hate to bring this bad news, but in my experience it's not just make or even model, but individual sights have different looking dots to me. Some look like slashes, some like star bursts, some have a halo, and that's just the variety of Aimpoints on my squad. The armorer at my agency was kind enough to let me select the best option for my eyes out of the batch. Any illuminated sight I buy has to be in person due to the variability.

That said, I have had the most trouble with Aimpoints and clones, and the least with Trijicon. The EOTech units are really consistent, but definitely not a pistol sight.

Golden Deagle would like a word with you (sorry I had too...)

i wanted to try it. I have the old PA Cyclops 1x which was ok for recreational shooting. Was wayyy too dark to use at sunset/sunrise moments where light was minimal. Too soon for NV and not enough for normal eyes. Do you know if the slx is better than the cyclops?

I'm pretty snobby with glass and have acogs and elcans on most my rifles. This current gen 1x from PA seems to be close to being on par.

I like it enough I put it on my 308 build and pre-ordered their 3x.

I also found that it plays nicely with night vision, so that's a huge plus.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
This is what I keep asking myself about the poster's complaints:
Are they wearing their lenses that are correcting for their astigmatism and are they staying out of their add powers, be it bifocals or progressives?
+1 (or 2?) on this one....
My astigmatism is just annoying enough to e irritating when trying to shoot with a red dot. My 1-8 variable has a red dot feature for the crosshair that I rarely ever used...
I ended up going to my eye doctor, who knows I love to shoot, and he hooked my up with a set of ballistic rated shooting glasses from Wiley X... they were not cheap but worth it.
Now its like I am shooting in ultra-high def 4k.
Only drawback is when I take them off the world is fuzzy for several minutes to almost 1/2 hour while my eyes readjust.

    Yup. Now you know.
It's the same sort of feeling when you try to switch between older glasses and newer glasses that are not the same prescription.

I have various prism scopes ranging from 1x to 3x from Primary Arms and Swampfox on two PCCs, a PS90, and a Tavor X95 but my two Shadow Systems pistols with micro dots. Both Holosuns. One is red that I can choose between dot, circle, or dot+circle, the other is green with a Chevron and a big circle around it that helps you center the reticle. The red one has the star burst effect but it doesn't matter much within 20 yds or so. The green one is pretty crisp, not sure how they managed that one.

stay away from anything holographic, id steer you to a prisim to be honest, with illuminated reticle it can feel lot a red dot but will be more crisp
