Nice to know I left a pretty gun friendly state (PA) to come to school in another very gun friendly state (IN). Great info here...

Kinda entertaining. I thought Indiana was rated a little low. In my opinion, because we can buy a lifetime LTCH and no training is required to obtain it, that should have been good for a little better score.

Whoever is doing the ranking has a misunderstanding of Indiana law.

If you read "Boston T. Party"'s Gun Bible, you have a similar event, a misunderstanding of the law makes a invalid conclusion.

Really? Sixteenth? How do we rank below states that are concealed carry only? How do we rank below states that are must inform? I can understand 12th or so, but 16th? Ridiculous.

Wow, we should really be a lot higher I think. No background checks at guns shows, super easy to get concealed carry and you only have to be 18 to get one, open carry is legal, no restrictions on amounts you can purchase of ammo and guns, really we don't have any non-federal restrictions on firearms I know of.

I noticed that too. We definitely should be in the top ten.

We should definitely have a better ranking here. I recall reading a similar Brady campaign ranking where we scored a 4% where 100% was the best in their puce skied world.

When i read through this one I couldn't figure why we did so poorly.

How the heck is TEXAS only 15? Its freeking Texas. You can buy whatever you want, whenever you want from whoever you want. Sure we can't open carry (though there is a bill working its way thru the legislature to change that), but ive walked down the street with a cocked and locked AK over my sholder and the only comment was "where did you get those stocks, i love the color"

    1. The onerous CCW license process.

    2. Lack of open carry of handguns.

    3. A point off for Texas's partial elimination of the duty to retreat.

    4. Lower ranking because only a third of Texans own firearms.

The ranking is definitly too low. Their mistake about our castle doctrineis one thing that lowered our rank. The one thing that surprised me was the percentage of hoosiers who "admit" owning firearms.

Our ranking was wrong, it says that all NFA items are legal in accordance to federal law, but we don't have SBSs, and it incorrectly states that no duty to retreat applies only to private property. I suppose the two may balance each other out though...
