Bill makes it a Federal crime to go overseas & possess pot (or even discuss it)

The Drug Warriors want their laws to span the globe. Nowhere on earth will it be safe to do what you want with your own body. The text of this bill would make it a crime even to "conspire" to possess drugs in another country, regardless if it is legal in that country.



H.R. 313: Drug Trafficking Safe Harbor Elimination Act of 2011 (GovTrack.us)

To amend the Controlled Substances Act to clarify that persons who enter into a conspiracy within the United States to possess or traffic illegal controlled substances outside the United States, or engage in conduct within the United States to aid or abet drug trafficking outside the United States, may be criminally prosecuted in the United States, and for other purposes.

This bill isn't going to stop anyone who simply wants to go abroad and indulge.

If you're not planning on founding a cartel in Holland, this shouldn't affect your vacation plans.
