So I stumbled upon a good looking laminate stock with a thumbhole for my Marlin model 60. Anyone have any input? This is my first venture into blinging any of my guns. But for $99 I think I should grab it.

100% agree. i've got 3 and have built 2 others. excellent laminate and a multitude of colors.

if you are only doing 1, this is probably the way to go, but i have done a few with richards microfit stocks too. lots of stock makers use the wood laminated from only 2 or 3 companies, so its the inletting and smoothness that is the difference.

Agreed. I have a walnut Boyds stock for an obscure old 12ga just sitting there waiting for me to finish it. It's a great piece of wood.

I bought the combo Marlin 60/795 stock a few months ago. Adds a bit of weight to the rifle but balances it out beautifully. The inletting wasn't too bad, although I guess you don't need it now with the dedicated stocks. I guess I bought mine about a month too early. Love the stock though, highly recommended.

I have 2 of Boyd's evolution stocks. 1 for my Ruger 10/22 and 1 for my Savage mark II. I love them both.

Here is a pic of the 10/22:

I have several Boyd's stocks for my M1s, including a heavy laminated match stock, and one for an M1A. All are very nice stocks.

    +1 for Boyds
They are a great manufacturer.I have a laminate stock made by them and could not be happier with the quality. It was a drop in stock I used for my Vanguard project.I glassed it.The fit and finish where top notch, and it was probably not necessary.

i have one on my Marlin 795. I actually noticed an increase in accuracy when the factory stock would heat up and push on the barrel and change it. The Boyd stock free floats it so no more issue with that. Here is a pic of mine

Can't go wrong with Boyd's. Quality stocks

Some here had some luck, i ordered a tac 597 stock that came warped, called boyds to send out another and the other came in the same condition, even though they absolutly wanted to help with my order i decided to not try a third time.

I bought a feather weight stock for my Remington 700 30-06. It needed a little fitting around the bolt lever. The manual said it might.

I replaced a Polymer stock. I had to replace the front screw. It was a 16th of an inch to long. My cousin had a long action With a wood stock. We compaired hardware to confirm. A call to Remington netted me a few screw! +1 to Remington.
