    Thanks - Busse Combat.

This one is not the loaded version but it has the springs, guide rod, trigger work barrel bushing, etc.

To the OP. This is what you are in for. It is a wonderful addiction. You have chosen a great product in the Springfield. I have a few and non have ever let me down. Shoot it all you can, enjoy it.

Thank you for the welcome guys. I'm afraid it will become a big addiction haha I keep seeing more and more guns I would like to get. I might need a bigger budget.

I just ordered the loaded Blackened Stainless. I have been reading about some issues with the two piece guide rods. Which models have the 2 piece from the factory? This all gets to be a little confusing.

Well, since someone already brought back a thread from 2 years ago...

The 2 piece guide isnt really a big deal as far as function, as long as its put together properly I have never had an issue with any of my guns that have them. That said, I have not had any function issues with one that had a GI style guide rod either. It is much easier to deal wit either of these than a full length one piece guide rod.

If your gun comes with one from the factory, I wouldnt sweat it, and just make sure its snug when you clean it. If yours comes with the short GI guide rod, I wouldnt drop the extra cash just to put a two-piece full length in either.

I could not agree more. The goal of every gun owner should be to try to wear out their guns through practice and training. It will never happen, but it sure is fun to try. The 1911 is a fantastic platform that goes beyond just being a gun. There are lots of kinds of guns out there, but there is only one that has the depth that the 1911 enjoys. My first 1911 was a Springfield and it got me hooked. It's quite the happy addiction.

Nice gun,OP. I have the same one and I love it. I'm going to ditch the 2 piece guide rod, but otherwise I'm very happy with it.
