    Not an expert,but the brass frame is reputed to be a bit weaker than the steel,the companies that sell the replacement cylinders for modern ammo specify "not for brass frames". The Remington[w/top strap] is sturdier than the colt design-They're all fun,though!

    Thanks ,that is exactly my concern. I hAve read about brass framed colts loosing up,but since this is a play gun that I probably won't put thousands of rounds through I wondered how many rounds it would be safe for
