I didn't want to risk derailing that good thread, so thought I'd try a new one for the first time.
It made me think of a White House press brief I watched where Fox reporter asked about San Francisco Mayor talking about cracking down on the crime spree etc.
Karine Jean-Pierre (Deputy Press Secratary) babers on about gun crime... blah blah blah... GRANTS for 50 more cops in SFPD and over 1000 community programs across the country...and the President wants to double this...
I recognize I'm a cynic, my tin-foil hat has a tear in it, and it's probably a reach, but... something clicked
1. Go along with "de-fund the police" and win points with the leftie mob.
2. Stimulate a "crime epidemic" that gives you a crisis to capitalize on
3. Use the crisis to broaden you powers to spy on citizens. (These flash mobs are orchestrated on Social Media, right?)
4. Declare crisis and Re-fund the police using other peoples money. Let the taxpayers in the responsible places pay for the safety of their "neighbors".
5. Use the money we didn't spend on our police to fund our wish list of woke community programs. note: Pocket some along the way.
6. If crime abates because of the money we got from others, twist the story to show that the WOKE programs were really responsible. Rinse and repeat.
What a great way to be a hero to their radical base (initial defund, later woke programs), hero to the moderates (got crime under control), increase powers you can abuse later, pocket money and spread it around to your friends. Don't forget the BONUS - you drain resources from your enemy (those idiots who actually managed their resources responsibly, i.e. conservatives).
Multiple motives, one issue and scheme. These people aren't a stupid as they seem, just more evil.
I'm interested in what you think about this, and even more about other schemes you notice with MULTIPLE MOTIVATIONS to do what seems STUPID to a fifth grader if taken at face value. (Beyond just "they are evil and want communisim - that's a given.)
